OUTLINE OF Glass-Lined PRODUCTS
Glass-Lined products are combined with strong glass properties of corrosion resistance against chemical substances and superior mechanical propertied of steel.
A combination of glass and steel is traditional fusion technique that after spreading enamel powder on the inner surface of steel material, the enamel powder react with the steel by melting when heated in an electric furnace and by doing so, special interface is formed and enamel is fused on the surface of steel.
Glass-Lined products shall be designed as assured that tensile stress producing cracks on glass coated due to discrepancy of thermal expansion coefficient between steel and glass does not occur and In order for design of ideal products, relativeness with material properties, possibility of interfacial reaction and conditions of final tensile stress should be concerned.
Glass-Lined products are innovatively improved in corrosion resistance, thermal resistance and impact resistance with development of enamel and a technological advance of enameling, however, must be acquainted and comply with properties and handling method of products given by a supplier when using the products.
NECESSITY AND USE OF Glass-Lined APPARATUS
Glass-Lined products had been used in food industry and pharmaceutical industry until the mid-70’s because those are easy to maintain cleanliness due to the smooth surface of glass and able to protect chemical products from pollution during chemical processing with strong corrosion resistance however, many large Glass-Lined apparatus had begun being used, by introducing highly corrosive nitric acid and Barrel Per Stream Day of manufacturing industry in Korea, the late 70’s after that, thanks to continuous development of fine chemical, food, pharmaceutical and semiconductor industry, demands of glass-lined apparatuses are radically increased.
